Frequently Asked Questions

Admission is $10.00 per person ages 1 and up effective June 21st 2019.

Do Adults Pay?

Yes! We hope that everyone plays when they are here!

Is admission good all day?

Admission is good for the rest of the day, however you must keep your receipt or have a sticker. Expect on our busy days (rain!) that we may be at capacity and you will have to wait for re-admittance.

What are your operation hours?

We are open daily 10 am- 3 pm. We sell our last admission ticket at 2:30 pm to allow families plenty of time to play. We kindly ask all members to arrive before 2:30 pm.

Where is your museum located?

We are located 1/4 mile north of the Eastern Slope Inn in downtown North Conway in the Stan and Dan’s Sports Plaza.

What ages does your museum serve?

Our target age range is for very young explorers, ages birth-age 7. Older children are welcome but are not our museum’s focus.

How much are memberships?

Family memberships are $60.00 for up to 6 people.

Just 2 memberships are $35.00 for 2 people.

Military Family Memberships are FREE.

Memberships allow for unlimited visits for 1 year from the date of purchase. We also sell gift memberships. Please inquire at the front desk during your visit.

Do we reciprocate with other Children’s Museum Memberships?

New in February 2019! If a family is a member of the American Museum Association (AMA), they will receive 1 FREE admission per family. This is not a reciprocity policy for all museums just for members of the American Museum Association (AMA.) We are not directly affiliated in this reciprocity program but realize that many museum families assume that we are a part of the program. Thus we want to exceed your expectations. Starting in April 2020, we will be offering a Reciprocal Membership option. More information to come soon!

Is there a military discount?

Yes. We offer FREE admission for military families! This applies to members of the immediate family only. Other family members, and friends will be subject to admission. We also offer Military families FREE memberships for the year. We thank both past and present Military personnel for their service!

Is there a discount for low-income families?

Yes. We offer FREE memberships for families whose children have Healthy Kids or Mainecare for insurance. This applies to immediate family only. Additional family members and friends can be added on for $10.00 per person. If your family cannot afford our admission or membership fees your family can make a donation of what is affordable. Donations are appreciated and accepted, as there is no financial assistance for this program.

What do we do when we visit the museum?

The museum has several creative play-based centers and exhibits that are meant to encourage and foster exploration and creative play among children and their parents or caregivers. It is a child-guided museum, there is no starting point, nor end. We suggest that you walk the space and allow plenty of time before settling into a center and playing! Let the fun begin!

What are the rules of the museum?

We ask all families to stay together, play together, and clean up toys before moving onto another room. We ask that the toys all stay in their individual rooms. We also ask that families do not use their cell phones (talking, and texting) while in the museum and focus on playing and interacting with their children. We ask children to use walking feet while in the museum.

Can adults use the WIFI?

Sadly no, our internet is reserved for staff only. The Front Desk Staff are happy to help you with any questions you may have while visiting our area.

Are we expected to clean?

Yes. We hope that you will encourage your children to assist in cleaning up our centers, as cleaning up is a part of play. This helps our staff maintain the museum, and make it appealing to our fellow guests. We appreciate every effort families make.

Can we bring in outside food and drink?

Yes. We ask families to use our Birthday party room on the downstairs floor for snacks, lunches and drinks. We also ask that coffees be left at the front desk to minimize spilling or drank downstairs in the Birthday Party room.

How did the museum begin?

Like many businesses or organizations the Mount Washington Valley had a need, and this need was a safe, indoor play area that would support the development of the children’s play, and create a sense of community for families dwelling here or visiting. We are a non-profit organization, and rely on donations of play centers, or money to help fund our development.

How can I help?
